The Facilitation Workshop (TFW), represented by
Ms Susheila Moodley, took over the development and delivery of a course on managing hazardous substances within the mining industry for AngloGold Ashanti’s Southern Africa Division. The main aim of the course was to ensure staff competency in the management of hazardous substances in terms of health, safety and environmental requirements (with the focus on environmental impacts and protection). The process involved project scoping, information gathering, course development, pilot course delivery, course revision and handover. This was achieved through meetings, workshops, interviews, reporting, document drafting and presentations. … Through a combination of presentations, exercises, assignments and assessments, the course became a learning experience, not simply a presentation. … It must be noted that for this course, because of the newness of the subject matter in South Africa, TFW did require assistance in identifying suitable sub-contractors. Overall, Ms Moodley demonstrated a commitment to deliver a product that exceeded our expectations and I would use TFW again.
